Meet The Animals: Rainey

Rainey is the first of our beautiful old horses that we will describe to you. She is a beautiful Pinto mare in her twenties. Something about Rainey is that she had a traumatic riding experience years ago so her owner did not ride after that and she has been a pasture potato for years. Rainey stands quietly for being groomed and loves carrots. She would love to be your best friend and makes a great project horse. Sponsor today!

Lowman is another one of our beautiful old horses. He is an off the track thoroughbred gelding who was rescued and put out to pasture, with his friend Leah, years ago. They were going to be put down because of their injuries but fortunately for them both STAT was able to take them in. Lowman is a big boy but very affectionate and he needs a sponsor today. He can your best friend too!

Meet the another one of our beautiful old horses, Maddie, a purebred Arabian mare in her 20's.  Maddie had a career ending hoof injury  and has been basically running free for many years.  We have started working with her and reminding her of previous training!  This is a very affectionate mare who would love to be your best friend and project horse. Meet Lady G an older NSH mare with a sweet and willing personality. This girl was rescued from an estate liquidation where she and her pasture pals were headed for an uncertain end.  The sweet lady who rescued them has had a life change and is no longer able to afford them.  If you have some empty time  come spend it with one of our beautiful old horses. Rosa is an old mare with a huge heart.  We don't really know her story except she came from a failed rescue and was going to be euthanized because no one wanted an old horse.  There is a wisdom and kindness in her eyes. She is one of our beautiful old horses and needs someone to brush and walk her. This sweet, gentle soul wants to be your best friend. Sponsor today!

With our beautiful old horses, we also have a whole FLOCK of ducks waddling around the ranch in Winchester. What started out as four as now grown, and they have become VERY fun to watch each day. 

At STAT we often take in other farm animals like ducks since people get their kids cute little duckies for Easter and don't take into consideration that the ducks grow up and need proper accommodations.  Ducks are not affectionate like  dogs but they sure are fun to watch!  Feeding and caring for them is expensive, so it is important to sponsor today.

This is Mocha  one of our little goat residents.  She is very sweet, personable and wants to be your best friend. There are over 15 goats at the sanctuary in Winchester currently.  Each goat costs about $50 p/month to feed and care for.  We sure need your help, please donate, volunteer or sponsor today.

There are currently 6  pigs at STAT in Winchester, California, that need you to sponsor today. They are Wompie, Keven Bacon, Mo, Maggie Mae, Princess Piggy  & Penelope. Pigs are very smart and make delightful pets until they mature and want to be pigs. These guys were pretty much hand raised inside like a dog but when they hit adulthood, then they wanted to wallow. Dogs are a man's best friend but pigs are your BEST friend!
